Heritage Park in LynnwoodThe Heritage Park in Lynnwood is a collection of historic buildings from the early 1900’s. The Wickers Building, built in 1919, is on the Washington State Historic Registry. It was the first general store and post office for the community of Alderwood. The Park is also home to Interurban Car 55, a single-ended wooden electric rail car. Experience the Heritage Park on guided or self-guided walking tours and visit also the Superintendent’s Cottage, now the Heritage Resource Center and the Humble House, the park site’s original residence! Cleaning of the Cemeteries

View cleaning of the CemeteriesNovember 1st marks “All Saint Day” and for weeks leading up to that date you can watch a south Louisiana cultural tradition take place in Lafourche Parish – “The Cleaning of the Cemeteries”. Family tombs are washed and painted, sometimes by three or more generations of family members, in honor of their deceased loved ones. Above ground “Cities of the Dead” are ornamented with beautiful flowers before the annual “Blessing of the Cemeteries”.
